Evidence, not promises

Sources & methodology

Every estimate has a boundary. Here is exactly what our figures mean.

Salary reference

ONS Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings, April 2025 (provisional): median gross annual earnings for full-time employee jobs £39,039. This is not live vacancy data or a job-title, location or experience-specific salary range. We do not manufacture percentile rankings. Your title and location provide context in your report; they do not adjust the national statistic.

Total reward

Salary + employer pension + 100% target bonus + extra leave above 28 days at salary ÷ 260 + £1,400 private medical + other benefits you enter. Target bonus is not guaranteed. Leave and medical are comparison values, not cash paid to you.

Worth the Move Score

An illustrative 0–100 financial decision index, not a validated career or credit score: 50 + 2 × percentage change in total reward after commute costs, plus 5 for your Low risk selection or minus 10 for High risk. Capped at 0–100. Current benefits use the offered benefit assumptions; compare saved offers for an exact package comparison. Personal fit is not reduced to a number.

Career Value Score

An illustrative index of current salary relative to the UK median: salary ÷ £39,039 × 50, capped at 100. It measures neither your worth as a person nor promotion readiness. Salary growth is measured between your earliest and latest salary milestones; qualifications do not change salary history automatically.

Take-home estimates

2026/27 standard employee in England, Wales or Northern Ireland: Personal Allowance £12,570, tapered above £100,000; tax at 20%, 40% and 45%; employee National Insurance 8% from £12,570 to £50,270 and 2% above. Excludes Scotland, student loans, employee pension deductions, salary sacrifice, other income and tax-code variations. Annual approximation, not a payroll quotation.

Qualifications & earnings scenarios

Payback = course fees plus forgone earnings ÷ expected annual uplift, adjusted by the probability you enter. Study duration comes before payback. Five-year scenarios cover five earning years after completion. A course has no automatic assumed salary premium. Growth projections compound your chosen rate, not a market forecast; inflation is not deducted.

Privacy & responsible decisions

Career information is private to your account. Reports are based on your figures and assumptions, not regulated financial, tax or career advice. Check contractual bonuses, pension terms, probation, commute, flexibility, progression and personal fit before deciding. No automatic live salary or market alerts are claimed at launch.
